Sigora Solar Named a Top 15 Rooftop Contractor

Sigora Solar, a top solar photovoltaic (PV) company and the largest residential solar company based in Virginia, has been recognized by Solar Power World as a top 15 rooftop contractor and top 20 residential solar provider in the US.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Sigora Solar, a top solar photovoltaic (PV) company and the largest residential solar company based in Virginia, has been recognized by Solar Power World as a top 15 rooftop contractor and top 20 residential solar provider in the US.

The 2020 congressional passage of a two-year extension of the federal investment tax credit (ITC) has further incented solar growth.  That growth is expected to quadruple by 2030, according to  market researcher, Wood Mackenzie.  Sigora, a 10-year-old Virginia-based company whose state saw some of the most significant increases in solar deployment jumping to number 4 in MWs installed in 2020, is well-positioned to further enhance its role as a leading US rooftop contractor.

“We’re proud of our company growth and how far we have come over the last 10 years,” said Logan Landry, CEO of Sigora Solar. “We couldn’t have done this without the hard work and dedication of our employees or the enthusiasm of our amazing customers. Our goal is to bring affordable clean energy options to as many American homes as we can, and we show no signs of slowing down.”

Sigora’s expansion to 14 states since its founding in 2011 accelerated with the recent acquisition of two west-coast based solar PV, heating and thermal companies.  These acquisitions propelled Sigora to its highest national ranking to-date and further extended its reach by establishing itself as a coast-to-coast service provider. With the effects of climate change becoming increasingly more acute and punctuated by an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events, a diverse offering of clean energy services across the country represents an opportunity for individuals to act to help mitigate climate change.  Sigora has thoughtfully positioned itself as a national provider of these services.

The Top Solar Contractors list is developed each year by Solar Power World to honor the work of solar installers in the United States. Solar firms in the utility, commercial and residential markets are ranked by number of kilowatts installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific service, markets and states.

“Not even COVID-19 closures and slowdowns could prevent the solar industry from installing fantastic numbers last year,” said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. “The Solar Power World team is so glad to recognize over 400 companies on the 2021 Top Solar Contractors list that not only survived a pandemic but thrived in spite of it.”

Sigora installed over 18,000 kilowatts of solar in 2020, a nearly 45% increase over 2019. Sigora’s significant growth is consistent with the residential sector’s growth of 11%  and 43% industry-wide, cementing 2020 as the best year for solar growth on record in spite of the global pandemic.
